Embracing a more sustainable lifestyle, our “empty nester” clients downsized from a large back-country property to this compact .077 acre site directly across from a public beach. They came to us with two main objectives: provide a therapeutic spa/plunge pool for her medical conditions and create a terrace platform for his recent impulse purchase of a 16’ long shuffleboard table. With an emphasis on carefree living, low maintenance and responsible environmental management, the Landscape Architect reinvented all outdoor spaces, fulfilling the clients’ needs and desires, while resolving previous storm water management deficiencies, with the installation of a series of capture and release landscape drainage terraces. Beginning with programming and design development, through construction detailing, and material selection, the Landscape Architect created customized design elements, ultimately managing the final construction and installation.
